Gayle King is defending Justin Timberlake after his DWI arrest earlier this week in the Hamptons.
The "CBS Mornings" co-anchor spoke out on Wednesday's show, saying the singer is "a really, really great guy," and added that the DWI is "clearly a mistake" and "I bet nobody knows it more than he."
After her co-anchor Nate Burleson chimed in and called the DWI a "stupid mistake," King agreed but still defended the embattled star.
"He's not an irresponsible person, he's not reckless, he's not careless," she added. "Clearly this is not a good thing, he knows that."
King isn't the only star to comment on Timberlake's DWI incident.

Rick Gervais, Billy Joel react to Justin Timberlake's DWI arrest
Controversial comedian Ricky Gervais poked fun at Timberlake's DWI arrest on social media.
To X, he posted: "@jtimberlake Did you get the bottle of Dutch Barn Vodka I sent you the other day?" referring to his co-owned vodka brand.
Billy Joel also addressed Timberlake's address after being spotted eating at The American Hotel in Sag Harbor, the same town where the "Cry Me a River" singer was arrested for driving under the influence.
"Judge not lest ye be judged," the "Piano Man" singer told New York news station PIX11 News.

The "Selfish" singer was apprehended by police in the Hamptons at 12:37 a.m. Tuesday, according to a press release from the Sag Harbor Village Police Department. Sag Harbor is part of the Hamptons, about 100 miles east of New York City.
Timberlake was pulled over in his 2025 BMW after failing to stop at a stop sign and "maintain his lane of travel."
"Upon investigation it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated position," according to the Sag Harbor Village Police Department.
Timberlake, 43, told police he had one martini, according to a report by The New York Times.
The former NYSNC breakout star's arrest comes ahead of two concerts on The Forget Tomorrow World Tour in Chicago this weekend which have not yet been cancelled as of Thursday afternoon.
